The 30 acres of preserved native habitats, flowering trees and plants, aquatic and terrestrial species, and sculptures from across the globe provided a wide choice of subjects for the entrants. No drone shots or manipulated photos were allowed. In keeping with PRBSG’s embrace of its relationship with the Charlotte community, judging was open to the public via the venue’s website. And the community responded back!
A “Best in Show” category was also judged on by Garden founder, Ms. Tetrault, and local professional photographers (and Garden volunteers) David Sussman and Gary Brownell.
Winners received many exciting prizes such as 1yr. Peace River Botanical Gardens Membership, 2 bottles of wine with custom label featuring the winning photo, photo exhibited at Peace River Gardens, admission passes and gift shop credits at the Gardens.
The Best in Show category winner also scored 4 hours of private lessons with David Sussman in addition to a host of other prizes.
We are pleased to acknowledge these contest winners and share their images here. There is so much more to see than could be displayed, and the in-person experience takes the beauty to an even higher level.
And, get your cameras ready for their upcoming major exhibits: Gardens Aglow (each December), Craig Mitchell Smith’s Glass in the Gardens (Fall 23/Spring 24), ZimSculpt (Spring 25), and Origami in the Gardens (Fall 25/Spring 26).
