In Loving Memory: Roger Tetrault

New Paragraph

A Tribute to His Legacy

We lost our visionary founder, Roger Tetrault, on January 27, 2020, but his legacy endures in every leaf and sculpture of the Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens. Born in 1941 in Hartford, Connecticut, Roger was a lifelong achiever—in academics, sports, and his decorated careers, which ranged from serving as a pilot and Surface Warfare Officer in Vietnam to becoming the CEO of McDermott International. Beyond his professional contributions to technology and business, he also made a lasting impact on commercial and charitable boards, earning him accolades like the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal and the title of the 55th Distinguished Graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. Together with his wife Linda, Roger invested over 15 years in developing these Gardens, which opened in 2017, as a haven for natural and artistic beauty along the Peace River. He is deeply missed by Linda, his children Stephen, Michael, and Danielle, and a wider family that continues to honor his memory. We invite you to keep Roger's dream alive through memorial gifts, either online or by mail to 5800 Riverside Dr., Punta Gorda, FL 33982. As you explore these Gardens, you are participating in Roger's enduring legacy—a perfect symbiosis of nature and human creativity, destined to enrich lives for generations.
