You Can Make A Difference

New Paragraph

Do you love The Gardens and want to make a lasting impact?

Our Gardens are just six years old and while we have experienced tremendous growth and resiliency, there are still a great number of needs. Our nonprofit thrives through the generous support of caring people like you! If you are in a position to make an even greater impact, below are specific areas of need that go beyond our annual operating dollars.

Program Possibilities

  • The Creativity Center will be an indoor space to hold educational workshops, cultural exhibitions, and summer camp programming. This project is a conversion of our current maintenance building into usable program space and we have raised half of our $500K goal.
  • Field Trip support for our Title 1 schools. If we are able to raise $25K annually, we can bring in 2500 students to experience rich cultural programming and environmental education for free.
  • Food Forest sustainment to inspire our community to grow and consume nutritious and sustainable produce - Cigna has granted us $20K to build the infrastructure of this important educational space and another $20K annually will be needed to serve our community with educational resources and nutrition programming.

People and Positions

  • An Education Coordinator to partner with schools and plan standards-based experiences. $30K annually.
  • An Arts and Exhibitions Coordinator to create thriving cultural experiences for our community. $30K annually.
  • Health Insurance for our staff has not yet been attainable. At a cost of $50K annually, this would help us to attract and retain quality professionals.

Accessibility Aids

  • Handicap Accessible Pathways so that every guest can traverse the entirety of The Gardens. $50K to pave the remaining shell pathways.
  • A 6-Seater Tram to tour guests with limited mobility. $14K
  • Shade Structures to limit sun exposure on our most vulnerable guests. We have two projects at $25K each.

Horticulture Help

  • Irrigation Improvement as much of our infrastructure is not yet complete to water the entirety of The Gardens. $30K.
  • Propagation Houses to expand our growing plant needs. Two planned at $15K each.
  • Butterfly House Support - With only a 2-week lifespan, keeping our Butterfly House full of flying friends costs $12K annually.
  • Educational Signage to increase awareness of the plants and ecosystems around the sanctuary. $18K

Sculpture Support

  • Restoration and maintenance of our world-class collection is an ongoing need. $15K annually.
  • Electrical infrastructure to light up sculptures at night allowing evening guests to view the collection. $50K
  • Cultural Exhibitions are the mainstay of our programming. Costing $250-$500K annually, these are enriching opportunities that impact our entire community.
