The Fusion of Ancient and Modern

New Paragraph

At Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens, our inception is rooted in the ancient. Inspired by a 50-million-year-old stone palm frond fossil, our remarkable signature sculpture—STEEL PALM—embodies the very essence of our sanctuary. Spanning 27 acres, this mesmerizing waterfront paradise seamlessly blends Florida's native flora, world-class sculptures, and modern interpretive art, culminating in one of the state's largest and most captivating botanical and sculpture gardens.

Our Mission

To provide a natural setting along the Peace River showcasing world-class sculptures and spectacular botanicals to inspire creativity throughout the community.

Our Vision & Guiding Principles

We aspire to uphold the ideals of gardening in our sublime sub-tropical region, enlightening our community about local flora preservation, offering sanctuary to local wildlife in our shared habitat, and fostering an artistic spirit through the curation of exquisite sculptures and fine art sourced globally.

Our Solution

Our approach encompasses the conservation of 27 acres of precious natural habitats, providing a sanctuary for a diverse array of aquatic and land-based wildlife. Elevated boardwalks offer unparalleled vantage points to observe these species thriving in their natural environments. Furthermore, our gardens offer a year-round tapestry of blooming trees and plants, skillfully complemented by an international collection of awe-inspiring sculptures.

The Visionaries: Roger and Linda Tetrault

Our founders, Roger and Linda Tetrault, initiated this extraordinary journey with 27 acres of diverse landforms—uplands and wetlands alike. Determined to establish a garden that featured not only botanical splendors but also world-class sculptures and an art gallery, they set up the Tetrault Family Foundation. This foundation has gifted the people of the region with the spectacular Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens.

Now a Thriving Nonprofit

Blossoming Dreams: The Future Expansion of the Gardens

The Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens will open in phases. The first phase opened in Fall 2017, and features the Sculpture Garden, 840 linear feet of boardwalks, the Peace River observation deck, Butterfly House, the Gardens Community Center with refreshment stand and gift shop, water garden, and terraces and lawn to hold memorable events.

In Fall of 2021, we cleared trails along our island to showcase the beautiful landscape that offers an abundance of birds and other wildlife along with unique air plants and native foliage. We have also added a thriving nursery where you can purchase a variety of unique finds that we propagate on our property.

The later phases will debut a Welcome Center with an expanded gift shop, plant store, and café centered around a picturesque courtyard. Additionally, a conservatory, fine arts museum/library and museum courtyards will further enhance the Gardens. The remaining boardwalks will lead to the island, showcasing a multi-use pavilion with a stage and event lawn. There are plans to add a children’s garden and interpretive nature trails to help visitors understand our unique ecosystem.

Our Future Creativity Center

The Creativity Center is a key part of the Peace River Gardens' mission to inspire creativity in our community. From educating our youth through summer camp STEAM programming, to providing an exhibition space that will cultivate cultural connections, this flexible space will promote an atmosphere for immersive and interactive experiences for all ages. The incorporated outdoor kitchen will connect to our future organic edible garden inspiring those in our community to make healthy food choices and encourage responsible permaculture practices in their own lives. When not in use with our own programming, the beautiful, climate-controlled space will be available for rentals, allowing for an additional revenue stream supporting our sustainability goals.
