Tafadzwa Tandi
Originally installed through the ZimSculpt exhibition, The Octopus remains on the banks of our koi pond. Tafadzwa is the grandson of first generation artist Gabriel Tandi, and the son of Thomas Tandi, a second generation artist. Tafadzwa started carving at the age of nine during his school holidays. He used to see his father talking to the stones almost every day. When his father discovered his talent, he taught him the language of stone. At the age of ten Tafadzwa could talk the same language with stones creating some remarkable pieces. He became fully active in carving in 1997 and moved to Harare in 1998 and joined The Chitungwiza Arts Centre where he is an active member. His work is bold, daring and attractive and he has exhibited in some parts of Europe, Asia, America and Canada.
We want to express our heartfelt thanks to our amazing community supporters. Your generosity and dedication make all the difference, and we are truly grateful for your ongoing support.
